OnePlus 6 India prices leaked; to reportedly start from Rs 36,999

One of the most anticipated smartphones this year is the OnePlus 6. Successor to the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, the OnePlus 6 is all set to be officially announced on May 16 in London, followed by its India debut a day later. The smartphone has been subject to a range of leaks and revelations, including some from the company itself. Now, days ahead of the official launch, alleged India prices of the OnePlus 6 have surfaced online.

Based on claims by True-Tech.net, the OnePlus 6 will cost Rs 36,999 for the base model with 64GB storage. The second model with 128GB storage will be priced at Rs 39,999. Rumors indicate there will be a third model with 256GB default storage. However, price of the high-end model has not been revealed by the report.

OnePlus 6 is expected to bring in a handful of new features including the much talked-about Apple iPhone X-like notch on the display. To add a touch of premium, the company is going to use glass and metal design. In addition to that, the OnePlus 6 is also likely to get AI-based photography abilities for its dual cameras. Subtle changes are also expected in terms of the design language. For instance, the Alert Slider will be repositioned on the new smartphone.

In terms of specifications, the OnePlus 6 is expected to pack a 6.2-inch display with a cut-out or notch on the top. It is confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage.

For optics, the OnePlus 6 is said to feature a dual-camera module, positioned vertically at the back. It is reported to boast major camera improvements. While not much is known about the camera specifications, rumors indicate it will be capable of recording super slow-motion video, something that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Sony Xperia XZs offer so far. Lastly, the OnePlus 6 is also said to come with water and dust resistance. When launched in India, the OnePlus 6 will be available exclusively via Amazon India and Prime members will be eligible for an early access on May 21.
