Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ launch: Here is how to watch the event live

Samsung will finally show the world what the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will look like at its Galaxy Unpacked event in Barcelona, Spain on February 25. The MWC event is scheduled to start at 6PM CET (or 10.30PM IST) and we already know what Samsung is putting together for its big announcement.
However, Samsung could also pull a surprise like it did when Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg walked into the event while those attending the event had put the Gear VR headsets. As with any major tech event, Samsung will be livestreaming the event and those interested can tune into the app via multiple ways.

How to watch Samsung Galaxy S9 launch live from MWC 2018

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ launch livestream will be available on the web from Samsung Newsroom, Samsung.com and Samsung Mobile Press when the event begins. On Twitter, it will be available at live.twitter.com/Unpacked and on Samsung Mobile’s Facebook page when the event begins. Samsung has also released the Unpacked 2018 app for Android and iOS to watch the event live. However, the most interesting way to watch would be in 360-degrees which will be available on company’s Gear VR and other VR headset.

What to expect from Samsung

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are definitely not a secret anymore and have leaked multiple times to give away its specifications and price. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are not expected to bring any cosmetic change and will serve as iterative models. The only major design change willl be at the rear with the fingerprint sensor placed below the camera module.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are expected to feature a 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC in the US and China. All other markets will get variants powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9810 chipset. The Galaxy S9 is said to launch with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage while Galaxy S9+ will start with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
With Galaxy S9 duo, Samsung is promising a very big improvement to the camera setup. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ is expected to feature an updated 12-megapixel primary rear camera with variable aperture that will use wider f/1.5 aperture in low-light and narrower f/2.4 aperture in daylight conditions. It is not clear how the mechanical shutter and aperture will work but the competition is really tough with Google Pixel 2 and iPhone X having gotten ahead of Galaxy with their impressive camera. The Galaxy S9+ will also have a secondary rear camera for 2x telephoto effect. For selfies though, Samsung is sticking with the same 8-megapixel camera found on Galaxy S8 duo.
Other features include IP68 water and dust resistance, Android 8.0 Oreo, gigabit download speed, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS and LTE. The smartphone is also said to pack same 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh battery under the hood. Last but not the least, there will be Bixby and probably a dedicated button too. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are expected to start at 841 Euro and 991 Euro respectively. We will see what the Korean company has to show to the world when all smartphones have kind of started looking the same.
